On July 21st, 2016, Waterloo Regional Police Criminal Intelligence Branch concluded a Human Trafficking investigation with the arrests of 3 adult males and an adult female. A 14 year old Kitchener female was taken to 2 Kitchener hotels and participated in Human Trafficking offences. Sexual services were also advertised on-line.
The accused parties are charged with a number of offences including Human Trafficking, Procurement, Receiving a Material Benefit, Advertising of Sexual Services and Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence. A 26 year old Toronto area male is in custody on other charges and will be brought before the courts to face these charges at a later date. A 19 year old Waterloo Region male has been arrested and has been remanded into custody on these charges.
A 24 year old Waterloo Region male has been arrested and has been remanded into custody on these charges. A 20 year old Waterloo Region female has been arrested on these charges and released pending a future court date. The victim has been provided support to assist her in escaping from this lifestyle.
