(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Saturday July 25, 2015, around 7 p.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling Perth Line 43 west of Amulree as this is one of the busy east/west roads with weekend traffic travelling through Perth County.
The officer observed a fast moving west bound Volkswagen SUV on Perth Line 43. The officer activated the police radar and locked the speed of the Volkswagen on radar at 135 km/h. The posted speed limit in that location is 80 km/h.
28-year-old Jae KIM of London was pulled over and was issued a summons for “race a motor vehicle”, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
He is to appear at Stratford Court on August 25, 2015 to answer to this charge. His driver’s licence was suspended for seven days. In addition, his Volkswagen was towed from the scene and was impounded for a week.
