25 Year Old Caught Going 137 In A 60 – Name Released

On November 30, 2016 at approximately 10:16 a.m., the Guelph Police were on general patrol in the area of Speedvale Avenue and Watson Parkway and observed a motor vehicle bearing two separate license plates. Police followed the vehicle east as it headed towards the city limits and noted the vehicle increased its speed to 137km/h in the 60km/h zone. The vehicle lost control a short distance later, leaving the roadway and coming to rest in a ditch. Police approached the vehicle and arrested the male driver. Continued investigation discovered that the male was a prohibited driver and the license plates attached to the vehicle we’re not registered to it.

Denis Hepburn, 25 years Guelph has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime. He was also charged under the HTA and CAIA with driving while under suspension, speeding, stunt driving, using plates not authorized for the motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. He will appear in court on January 7, 2017.
