(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 24-year-old female from Seaforth has been charged with a number of driving related charges following a dangerous driving incident that took place in Huron Park last week.
On December 7, 2017 around 11:00 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting patrols in Huron Park when they observed a Pontiac Grand Prix travelling southbound on Airport Line with unauthorized licence plates.
The officers turned around and began to follow with the intention of stopping the vehicle. The driver immediately accelerated away at a high speed and turned onto Algonquin Drive. The driver continued driving at a high rate of speed even after the officer’s activated their emergency lights. Officers then watched as the vehicle jumped the curb and drove across two residential front lawns narrowly missing two vehicles and a large tree. The driver ultimately came to a stop at an Algonquin Drive residence whereupon she and her passenger quickly exited the vehicle and tried hurry into the house.
Unfortunately for the driver officers were right behind and they called out to the pair to hold up. The female driver was quickly arrested and taken into police custody.
24-year-old Dayna STANLEY from Seaforth has been charged with the following offences:
Dangerous Driving
Mischief
Stunt Driving
Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle
Drive Motor Vehicle No Permit
Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance
She has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 25, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter.
