24 Year Old Faces Weapons And Methamphetamine Charges In Owen Sound

On January 14, 2016, a member of the Owen Sound Police Service, Community Oriented Response and Enforcement Unit (CORE) was on patrol on the city’s east side. The officer had stopped at a residence briefly then noticed a male he knew was wanted by the police service for using a stolen credit card at local businesses on Christmas Eve. The officer stopped and arrested the man with the assistance of an off duty Wiarton OPP officer that happened to be in the area at the time.

A search of the man revealed approximately $700.00 in methamphetamine, scales, cell phones, drug packaging and money. The man also had pepper spray and a flick knife, both prohibited weapons and an Ipod that had been reported stolen to police.

Brady THOMPSON, 24 years of no fixed address is charged with:

Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking

Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card (2 charges)

Possession of Marihuana

Possession of the Proceeds of Crime

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (2 charges)

Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (2 charges)

Failing to Comply with Probation (6 Charges)

THOMPSON has been held in custody for a bail hearing on January 15, 2016.
