24 Year Old Drunk Driver Caught On Hwy 21

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A 24 year old South Huron resident has been charged with Over 80 after he was stopped on April 24, 2015 for speeding. Just before 8:00 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed the driver of an Acura speeding along Bluewater Veterans Highway at a high rate of speed. The officer confirmed his observations with a RADAR device and proceeded to stop the driver on Bluewater Veterans Highway at Turnbull’s Road.

Upon speaking with the male driver officers noted the driver had been consuming alcohol. A roadside screening test was performed and the driver registered a fail. He was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron Detachment for breath tests. He subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples registered over the legal limit.

As a result, 24 year old Lee BRINTNELL from South Huron has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, Speeding, Drive Motor Vehicle – Open Container of Liquor & Drive Motor Vehicle with No Validation on Plate. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on June 8, 2015. He also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
