(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On February 14, 2018 at approximately 8:05 p.m., a member of the Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed two vehicles, one of which was a red Subaru, travelling at a high rate of speed westbound on Sykes Street North in the Municipality of Meaford.
The officer proceeded to follow the vehicles which turned north onto Grey Road 112. Although the officer had activated the cruiser’s emergency lighting, the vehicles had failed to stop and continued going northbound at a fast rate of speed towards the Meaford 4th Canadian Division Training Centre located on Grey Road 112.
Once on the base, the officer observed a male running from the parked Subaru towards a building.
With the assistance of the Military Police, the driver of the Subaru was identified and presented to the Grey County OPP officer.
24-year old Guillaume DESBIENS-CHEVREFILS of Petawawa was charged with the criminal offence of Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on March 1, 2018.
