23 Year Old With Marijuana Caught Going 122 in an 80

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A traffic stop for speeding ended up with the driver facing a drug charge after police found marihuana in his possession. Last night, just after 8:00 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a Subaru travelling southbound on Road 164 at a speed well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The officer confirmed the vehicle’s speed with a RADAR device and measured the speed at 122 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

While speaking with the driver the officer detected the presence of marihuana inside the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest and the vehicle was searched. Officers located a small quantity of cannabis marihuana and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

As a result, 23-year-old Nicholas DAMIANI from Windsor has been charged with Speeding and Possession of a Schedule II Substance (Marihuana). He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on November 26, 2015.
