(LONDON, ON) – On August 26, 2017, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Provincial Highway 401, City of London.
The Mazda sedan was measured to be travelling at 151 kilometers per hour (km/h) in the 100 km/h zone.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was found to have consumed alcohol.
As result of the police investigation, 23-year-old male Oghenetega OMENE from London has been charged with Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) and Race a motor vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The vehicle was seized for 7 days, and the operator’s driver’s licence was automatically suspended for 90 days.
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to answer to the charges in a London court on September 27, 2017.
