(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On December 31, 2017 Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Program on Highway 6 & 21 in Springmount, in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. At approximately 2:34 a.m. a vehicle travelling westbound had stopped. The driver was suspected of drinking alcohol.
After failing a roadside breath test the driver was transported to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment for further breath tests which he failed.
23-year old Paul CAMPBELL of Arran-Elderslie Township was charged with the criminal offence of driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on January 25, 2018.
