(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment continues to investigate an apparent drowning that took place yesterday evening on the Nine Mile River west of Dungannon.

They struck the deadfall and their canoe overturned and the victim became trapped below. He was freed by his friend and brought to shore however despite the life-saving efforts performed by his friend and emergency crews the male died at the scene.
The deceased has been identified as Nicholas ST PIERRE-BEKE, 23 years of age from Cambridge.
A post-mortem examination will take place to determine the exact cause of death.
