(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a 23-year-old driver last week after he was spotted by an officer driving his un-plated All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) in the Town of Goderich. At approximately 2:25 a.m. on July 9, 2015 a Huron OPP officer stopped the ATV on Maitland Road South near Oxford Street. Upon stopping the ATV the officer checked the driver’s licence status of the driver and it was determined he was driving with a suspended driver’s licence. Further checks revealed the ATV was not insured. Furthermore, the operation of ATV’s in the Town of Goderich is not allowed.
The driver was placed under arrest and a search incident to arrest revealed the driver to be in possession of methamphetamine. As a result, Tyler DURST, 23 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Drive Off-Road Vehicle – No Insurance, Drive Off-Road Vehicle – No Number Plate and Drive While Under Suspension. He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on August 24, 2015.
