Occurrence #: BA16059759

Date: Tuesday, November 29, 2016 – 6:10pm

On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, just after 6:00 p.m. Barrie Police arrested a 23-year-old Orillia man for theft.

While in Sears the male’s suspicious behaviour caught the attention of a Loss Prevention Officer. The male had removed a watch from the packaging and placed it on his wrist, and continued browsing throughout the store. Loss Prevention continued to observe the male, who then selected and removed the price tags from a Nintendo and Batman wallet, and placed them into his pocket.

The male left the store without making any attempt to pay for the items and was quickly apprehended by Loss Prevention. The 23-year-old Orillia man has been charged with Theft Under $5,000 and will appear in a Barrie court in December 2016.
