(PERTH COUNTY, ON) Between 6 a.m. on Tuesday January 04, 2011, and 6 a.m. on Wednesday January 05, 2011 Perth County OPP officers were called to 23 motor vehicle collisions on Perth County Roads. Five of these collisions were multi vehicle collisions while the other 18 involved single motor vehicles.
Fortunately none of the collisions resulted in major injuries but the property damage is extensive. In most instances the crashes involved drivers losing control on snow covered and slushy roads and sliding into the ditch where they got stuck, rolled or as in two cases struck and snapped hydro poles.
The Perth County OPP wants to remind Perth County motorists that winters in the county are challenging for motorists as our weather conditions can be unpredictable. Ensure you are well prepared for winter roads and always adjust your driving speed to existing conditions.
