22 Year Old Runs From Police Caught With Weapon And Methamphetamine

Incident: On Thursday, March 3 2016, police stopped a male on a bicycle at McClure Street and Terrace Hill Street around 12:47 hours. Police believed that there was an outstanding warrant for a male matching the descriptor of the male stopped for theft and possession of a dangerous weapon. The male gave a false name to which included the first name of the person wanted.

Police then pulled up a photo of the wanted person on the police cruiser’s computer, and learned that the male was in deed the male wanted. The male was advised that he was under arrest for an outstanding warrant. The male immediately began to struggle with police and pulled free and ran before being arrested on Elizabeth Street.

During the search of the accused a sharp edged weapon was found on the accused. Once at the station the male was found to have crystal methamphetamine,on him as well.

A 22 yr old Brantford man has been charged with Obstruct Police Officer, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose,; Possession of a Controlled Substance, Escape Lawful Custody, and two counts of Breach of Probation. He was held for Bail.
