22 Year Old Repeat Offender & Drunk Driver Arrested In Goderich – Name Released

(GODERICH, ON) – A 22-year-old from Goderich has been charged with Over 80 following a traffic stop that took place in Goderich this past weekend.

At approximately 3:23 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a Toyota Corolla travelling southbound on Victoria Street in Goderich. The officer noted the driver appeared to be having difficulty staying within his lane and making a turn onto Britannia Road.

A traffic stop was conducted and while speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had been consuming some alcohol. A roadside screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail. He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He later provided two breath samples to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples registered over the legal limit. A subsequent search of the motor vehicle resulted in the officer locating open alcohol.

As a result, 22-year-old Kalin GODDARD from Goderich has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Drive Motor Vehicle With Open Container of Alcohol. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 18, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. He also received an automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was towed and has been impounded.
