22 Year Old From Ripley Caught Going 140 In An 80 – Name Released

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A young driver from Ripley has been charged with Racing following a traffic stop that took place on October 24, 2016. Just before 1:00 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a Toyota Tundra pickup truck traveling eastbound on Amberley Road west of Lucknow at a high rate of speed. The officer confirmed his visual observations of the racing vehicle with a RADAR device and confirmed the speed of the truck to be travelling at a speed in excess of 140 km/h in the posted 80 km/h zone. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was subsequently charged.

Valerie ELCHUK, 22 years of age, from Ripley has been charged with “Race a Motor Vehicle”. She has a court appearance scheduled for December 6, 2016 at Provincial Offences Act Court in Goderich. Her driver’s license is suspended for seven days and her company vehicle has been impounded for the week.
