Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit have charged a 22-year-old female driver following a fatal collision in the City of Markham.
On Friday, November 18, 2016, at approximately 3:05 a.m. York Regional Police responded to a single- vehicle collision in the area of 14th Avenue and Markham Road. Officers arrived on scene to find a white Range Rover Evoke with extensive damage.
A 17-year-old female passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 21-year-old female passenger and the 22-year-old female driver were transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The condition of the driver has improved. She has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing and investigators continue to appeal for witnesses.
