(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 22 year old Goderich resident following a traffic stop on December 27, 2014. At approximately 9:40 p.m. the driver of a Toyota Echo entered a R.I.D.E (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) checkpoint located at Gloucester Terrace and North Street. Upon speaking with the driver officers detected the odour of marihuana coming from inside the vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed the driver was in possession of marihuana. A search of the driver and vehicle was completed and a quantity of marihuana was located. The driver was later released from the scene on an appearance notice.
22 year old Benjamin CREASE from Goderich has been charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana. He has a scheduled court appearance on February 2, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
