(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit, under the direction of OPP Detective Inspector Dave Robinson of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), is investigating the death of 22 month old Owen BEFURT.
As a result of a 911 call shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Monday March 28, 2016, emergency personnel responded to a private residence along Main St. in Atwood in response to a seriously injured child. The child was rushed to the Listowel Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
A forensic post-mortem examination was conducted on March 28, 2016, at London’s University Hospital. The investigation is continuing and further details will be released when they become available.
