21 Year Old Caught Going 197 in an 80

A motorcycle rider has been charged after an officer spotted a motorcycle travelling at 117 kilometres per hour over the posted speed limit in the Town of Richmond Hill.

On Sunday, June 12, 2016, shortly before 10:30 p.m., an officer with the Traffic Bureau was conducting speed enforcement in the area of Highway 7 and Hunters Point Drive. The officer first heard, then spotted, a blue Yamaha motorcycle travelling on Highway 7 at a high rate of speed. The

LASER speed measuring device confirmed the motorcycle was travelling at 197 km/h in an 80 kilometre per hour zone.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from the City of Vaughan, was charged with Dangerous Driving, Stunt Driving and Speeding. His motorcycle was impounded for seven days and his licence was suspended.
