(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Friday January 11, 2013, at approximately 1:40 p.m., a Perth County OPP officer on patrol observed an extremely fast moving Jeep Liberty driving north bound on Hwy. 23 north of Mitchell.
The officer activated the police radar in his cruiser and locked in the speed of the Jeep at 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The car was operated by a 21 year old female from Waterloo Ontario. The female was issued a summons for “racing a motor vehicleâ€Â. She is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on February 26, 2013. Her driver’s licence was seized and has been returned to the Ministry of Transportation as it is suspended for 7 days. Her Jeep Liberty was towed from the scene and has been impounded for 7 days. The driver and passenger were given a ride into town where they arranged a ride home.
