(WEST PERTH, ON) – Members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Perth detachment were contacted regarding an assault that occurred during the daytime hours of April 11, 2019 in the Municipality of West Perth.
Perth County OPP determined that 2 male parties had been arguing and the victim had been assaulted with a baseball bat.
The victim contacted police the next day after he admitted himself to a local hospital.
A male was arrested after he turned himself at the Sebringville detachment.
The male, Colton SMITH, 21-years-old, of the Municipality of West Perth was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.
The male is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on May 13, 2019 to answer the charges.
The incident remains under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed anything is asked to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
