(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Sunday November 8, 2015 shortly after 3 a.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers on patrol in Shakespeare observed a Chevrolet Tahoe with extensive passenger side damage.
The vehicle was pulled over by police and while speaking to the male driver of the vehicle a determination was made that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was transported to the Stratford Police Department where he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.
20-year-old Derek Adam WAGLER of the Township of Perth East has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Driving while ability impaired by alcohol
– Driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on November 23, 2015, where he will have to answer to the charges.
His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his motor vehicle has been impounded for a period of seven days.
