2 Vehicle Crash Sends 3 To Hospital

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Tuesday March 26, 2013, around 6:10 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) officers were dispatched to the intersection of Perth Road 135 and Line 36 north of Sebringville for a serious two vehicle crash.

Investigation revealed that an SUV travelling west bound on Line 36 proceeded through the stop sign controlled intersection of Perth Road 135 striking a north bound pickup truck on Perth Road 135. The impact caused both vehicles to end up in the north / west ditch. The lone 49 year old male driver from Brampton operating the SUV as well as the 45 year old male and 51 year old female residents of the Municipality of West Perth, occupants of the pickup truck, were all transported to Stratford General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The SUV driver has been charged with failing to yield to traffic on through highway. The environmental and road conditions were good at the time of the crash. The intersection was closed for over an hour while the vehicles and debris were cleared and the investigation was completed.

Drivers are reminded to Stop and Look when approaching stop sign controlled intersections. Failing to do so, may result in tragic or fatal consequences.
