On August 20, 2015, an industrial accident occurred in Wilmot Township. A male excavator operator was driving a machine, when a small object flew from the excavator and struck a 19 year old worker. Emergency Medical Services attended the scene and transported the injured man to Grand River Hospital for treatment where he is being treated for serious injuries, but is stable. The investigation will be continued by the Ministry of Labor.
