(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) – On January 2, 2018, at approximately 2:15 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on the lookout for an erratic driver reported to the Perth County OPP.
Shortly after, Middlesex OPP officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Elginfield Road, Lucan-Biddulph. A witness reported that the driver of the vehicle had lost control and entered the ditch. The driver of the vehicle attended a nearby residence and demanded that the occupants drive him to another location.
The vehicle involved in the collision had been reported as stolen to the London Police Service earlier in the day.
As a result of the police investigation, 19-year-old, male, Robert MCLEAN of London, Ontario has been charged with the following offences pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada:
CC 249(1)(a) Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
CC 349(1) Unlawfully in Dwelling House
CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 x 3
CC 145(3) Fail to Comply with Recognizance
The accused was held in custody and appeared in a London court on January 3, 2019.
