19 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested After Home Invasion

Occurrence #: BA16047836 & BA16047761

Date: Thursday, September 22, 2016 – 4:05pm

Barrie Police Service is currently investigating two altercations that occurred at two different residences over the same dispute of money owing.

On Friday, August 22nd, 2016 at 4:05pm police received a call that first presented as a home invasion. Upon arrival at the apartment located at 236 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie, police heard that when the female victim opened the door a male pushed his way into the apartment with a knife. He was looking for someone who was not in the residence so after a few minutes of arguing with the female, he left the apartment. Further investigation revealed this incident stemmed from an altercation between the same males at an address on Tunbridge Drive on Wednesday, September 21st, 2016. Both disputes are believed to be over money one male owes to the other for a service or product neither victim or accused would disclose to police.

At this time one male has been arrested in relation to both incidents. A 19-year-old Barrie male has been charged with Forcible Confinement, Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats and two counts of Fail to Comply with Sentence.

At this time the Barrie Police Service Criminal Investigative Division is continuing their investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Barrie Police Service at 705-725-7025 ext. 2901.
