19 Year Old Hunter Trips And Shoots Himself

(HURON EAST, ON) On Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Huron County OPP was notified of a hunting accident that occurred on Rowland Dr., Huron East. A 19 year old male from Huron East sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators learned the male had been hunting deer as part of a small group spread throughout the bush. The male tripped in the damp, heavily treed area and while falling accidentally shot himself.

The injured party was transported to the hospital in Listowel for treatment. The hunter has a valid licence and registration to possess the shotgun. The Ministry of Natural Resources was contacted about this hunting accident.
