19 Year Old Faces Dangerous Driving Charge

(GODERICH, ON) – A 19 year old male from Central Huron is facing a dangerous driving charge stemming from a collision that occurred in Goderich on August 20, 2012. Just after 9:30 p.m. Huron OPP officers, Huron County Paramedics and members from the Goderich Fire Department responded to a single motor vehicle collision that occurred on Maitland Road North between East Street and Nelson Street East.

The driver of a silver Ford Focus was traveling northbound on Maitland Road North at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, slid off the roadway and struck a hydro guide wire and a tree. OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) officers attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

The driver and three teenage male passengers from Goderich and Central Huron were treated at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital for minor injuries.

Matthew REIGER, 19, from Central Huron has been charged with Dangerous Driving. He has a scheduled court appearance on October 15, 2012 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
