(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Thursday May 16, 2013, around 10:30 p.m. a Perth County OPP officer while patrolling Hwy 7 near Line 9 (near Wildwood Park) observed a fast moving west bound Honda Civic.
The officer who was operating a marked OPP vehicle activated the police radar and locked the Civic’s speed in at 140 km/h in an 80 km/h zone (60 km above the posted speed limit).
The Civic was operated by a 19 year old male from London. The male was issued a summons for racing a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on June 11, 2013. His driver’s licence was seized and has been returned to the Ministry of Transportation. His vehicle was towed from the scene and has been impounded for 7 days.
