During the morning hours a Barrie Police Service Traffic officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area of Mapleview Drive East and Dean Avenue in response to community complaints of speeding vehicles.
At approximately 11:00am, a 19 year old Coldwater male was operating a Chevrolet Cavalier westbound of Mapleview Drive East. The officer clocked the vehicle at 112 KM/H in a posted 50 KM/H zone. The vehicle was stopped without incident and the driver was charged accordingly. His vehicle was towed and his drivers licence was suspended for 7 days.
