19 Year Old Caught Doing 105 in a 50

Member of Barrie Police Traffic Unit was conducting radar in the area of Mapleton Avenue around 3:30PM earlier this afternoon. He had to do a double take when a vehicle registered 105kms per hour in a 50km zone in a residential area just prior to 4pm. Investigating officer was able to get the vehicle pulled over and spoke with the sole male driver. The 19 year old lived nearby and had no reasonable explanation other than he was on his way to work.

He was given substantial tickets for Speeding as well as Stunt Driving because he was speeding over 50kms over the posted speed limit. The vehicle was impounded and his drivers licence is suspended, both for a 7 day period. He will be required to attend Provincial Offences court later in September in answer to these charges. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
