On Saturday, March 19, 2016, just before 11:00 p.m., Barrie police stopped at vehicle that had been travelling at 175 km/hr. on Highway 400 just north of Mapleview Drive, in the City of Barrie.
The 19-year-old Barrie male advised police he was actually traveling at 205 km/hr. prior to being caught. Despite his honesty he was charged with stunt driving and received a 7-day driving suspension and vehicle impoundment.

Barrie Police were called to a Barrie motel Saturday afternoon with regards to a female guest who had overstayed her welcome. The woman had been causing problems for hotel management and was refusing to vacate her room.
When police arrived to assist, they located two parties in the room along with a variety of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The female, a 34-year-old Barrie woman, was already out on earlier charges for property and drug related offences. She faces three new charges; two counts of Possession of CDSA and one Breach of Recognizance.
Her companion, a 31-year-old Barrie man, was out on his own charges for violence based offences. He himself faces three new charges; two counts of Breach of Probation and one Possession of CDSA.
Both were arrested and lodged at the Barrie Police Station to await a Bail Hearing.

Barrie Police were called to a Wellington Street plaza on Saturday afternoon to assist with the arrest of a female who was attempting to avoid apprehension.
The woman had attended a grocery store and helped herself to some snacks and beverages which she concealed in her shoulder bag. She then exited the store having made no effort to pay for the items. Outside she was approached by the Loss Prevention officer who had observed the whole thing and intended to arrest her.
The woman assaulted the LPO and continued to struggle with him to resist arrest.
Police arrived and continued the arrest. At that time they located a variety of other new items in the shoulder bag which the woman admitted she had lifted from two other stores in the same plaza.
As a result of the shopping spree” a 21-year-old Bradford woman was charged with Theft Under $5000 x3
