On June 16, 2015 at 7:25 p.m., Guelph Police officers working security on Huron Street for the movie shoot attempted to stop a male from driving his motorized bicycle into the closed road area. The male disobeyed police and entered the closed area at a high rate of speed. Police were able to physically stop him inside the restricted area and he was arrested. A search subsequent to his arrest discovered a quantity of Crystal Meth.
A 19-year-old Guelph man has been charged with dangerous driving, four counts of breach of probation, three counts of breach of recognizance and possession for the purpose of trafficking (CDSA). He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with drive no license and drive no insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on June 17, 2015.
