(MINTO TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Saturday, January 26, 2013 at approximately 4:21 pm County of Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Highway 23 near the 5th Line in Minto Twp. At this time and location, Constable Dave Banasik observed a southbound motor vehicle travelling well above the posted speed limit. Police clocked the Ford F-150 pick-up truck on radar at 142km/h in an 80km/h zone.
Troy Danson aged 18 of Howick Twp has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the motor vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on March 6, 2013 to answer to the charge.
