Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit – Sexual Assault Section are releasing additional video surveillance footage following a sexual assault that occurred in the City of Vaughan. They are requesting the community’s assistance to identify the suspect and the suspect vehicle.
On Thursday, May 26, 2016, at approximately 1 p.m., an 18-year-old female exited a transit bus in the area of Keele Street and Rutherford Road. The investigation has revealed that she was followed by the suspect as she walked to her residence which is located nearby. As she was unlocking her front door, the suspect ran towards her from the sidewalk, pinned her against the front door and sexually assaulted her. The victim managed to fight off the suspect and ran for help.
Video surveillance captured images of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving in the area around the time that the incident occurred. Investigators are appealing for assistance to identify the owner of the vehicle.

Video surveillance captured a clear image of the suspect running on the street and despite the coverage in the media, social media, and a canvass of the area, investigators have not been able to identify him.
Suspect description:
Male, black
18 to 25 years
6’, 200 lbs.
Short black hair
Wearing a grey T-shirt, black shorts and glasses
