18 Year Old Drunk Driver From Mount Forest Arrested – Name Released

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On Sunday April 16, 2017 at approximately 12:30 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle collision. It was reported that a grey van was squealing its tires before losing control and striking a hydro pole. The van was damaged and last seen driving way from the crash scene on Smith Street, Arthur.

Police located and stopped the damaged Grey Ford Windstar northbound on Highway 6. While speaking with the male driver officers formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for testing.

18-year-old Braedon Parker REEVES-COBURN of Mount Forest has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. He was also charged with Fail to Remain, Fail to report Damages to Property and with Novice Driver with Alcohol Level Above zero contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on May 19, 2017.

Neither the driver nor any of his passengers were injured.
