(NORTH PERTH, ON) -A stunt driver in the Municipality of North Perth was reminded of the consequences of dangerous driving behaviour on the evening of December 5, 2017.
Eighteen-year-old Sydney REBHAN of Wellington North was charged with racing a motor vehicle after she was stopped by a member of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) travelling approximately 55 kilometres over the posted speed limit. The traffic stop resulted in a seven day driver’s licence suspension and a seven day vehicle impoundment. The driver was released on a Part III Summons and is scheduled to appear in court on a later date.
Over the past three months, approximately 10 stunt driving incidents have been investigated across Perth County. This alarming figure is a glaring reminder of the dangers that still exist on our roadways. Regardless of the excuse, stunt driving will not be tolerated.
Excessive speeds and dangerous stunts pose unnecessary risks to public safety. Our members are committed to locating these drivers and holding them accountable for their actions.” Inspector Rob Scott
