(MORRIS-TURNBERY, ON) – An 18-year-old driver from North Huron has been charged with Racing following a traffic stop that took place last week on Amberley Road (Highway 86) between Scott Line and Currie Line.
Shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling westbound on Amberley Road when he observed a Pontiac Grand Prix Caravan travelling eastbound at a high rate of speed. A RADAR device was used to confirm his observations and the speed of the vehicle was measured at a speed in excess of 60 km/h over the posted 90 km/h speed limit.
The speeding vehicle was stopped and the officer spoke with the male driver. Nicholas CARTER, 18 years of age from North Huron was charged with Racing. He will now have to attend Provincial Offences Act Court in Goderich later this spring to answer to the charge. His licence has been suspended for seven days and his vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
