18 Year Old Caught Doing 134 in an 80

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Tuesday July 24, 2012, shortly after 2 p.m., a Perth County OPP officer patrolling Perth Line 20 just east of Fullarton observed a fast moving Toyota Highlander.

The police radar was activated and it locked in the speed of the west bound Toyota at 134 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The vehicle was operated by an 18 year old male from Waterloo. He was issued a summons for “racing a motor vehicle” and is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on August 28, 2012. His driver’s licence was seized and has been returned to the Ministry of Transportation as it is suspended for 7 days. The Toyota Highlander was towed from the scene and has been impounded for 7 days. The driver and his three young passengers had to call a friend to give them a ride to Grand Bend.

Motorists are reminded that Perth County OPP officers are actively patrolling the east west corridor roads which are heavily travelled by cottagers and vacationers.
