17 Year Old Killed In Single Vehicle Collision – Two Sustain Serious Injuries

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision in the City of Markham.

On Friday, November 18, 2016, at approximately 3:05 a.m. York Regional Police responded to a single- vehicle collision in the area of 14th Avenue and Markham Road. Officers arrived on scene to find a white Range Rover Evoke with extensive damage.

A 17-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman have been transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators remain at the scene of this collision, 14th Avenue remains closed from Middlefield Road to Markham Road for investigation. The area is expected to re-open later this morning.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police are being asked to please come forward.
