17 Year Old Killed In Drunk Driving Collision – Name Of 23 Year Old Driver Released

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit have laid additional charges following a fatal single-vehicle collision in the City of Markham.

On Friday, November 18, 2016, shortly after 3 a.m., York Regional Police responded to a single- vehicle collision in the area of 14th Avenue and Markham Road. When officers arrived they located a white Range Rover Evoke with extensive damage. A 17-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver, a 22-year-old woman was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries and a 21-year-old woman who was a passenger was taken to hospital suffering from serious injuries. Both have since been released from hospital.

The driver was arrested and charged with Dangerous Driving Causing Death on the day of the collision. Following further investigation, officers have laid additional charges related to impaired driving.

Ms. PAN appeared today in the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket and is scheduled to appear again on January 19, 2017.
