A 17 year old Barrie youth is in police custody this afternoon awaiting a bail hearing after police responded to a Ferndale Dr. S. residence just prior to 1pm. Investigation revealed that the youth got into a verbal altercation with his father which led to the youth picking up a hockey stick. The youth threatened his father with the stick and smashed a stairway railing inside the home. The youth fled the scene prior to being located by the officers. He now faces charges of assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000.00.
