(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Saturday April 07, 2012 around 7:50 p.m., Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Perth Road 109, north of Perth Line 26 (south of Shakespeare).
Upon arrival, officers determined that a full sized pickup truck had been driven into the east ditch by the 17 year old male driver. The male and his passenger did not sustain injuries as a result of the crash. The male driver displayed signs of alcohol impairment. He was arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests. The male has been charged with “impaired operation of a motor vehicleâ€Â, “operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of bloodâ€Â, “person under 19 consuming liquorâ€Â, “class G2 licence holder – Blood Alcohol Concentration above zero “, and “novice driver – BAC above zeroâ€Â. The male is scheduled to appear in Stratford Youth Court on Thursday May 31, 2012 to answer to the charges. He was issued a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the pickup truck was impounded for 7 days.
