On August 18, 2013 at 3:00 a.m., the Guelph Police attended to the area of Southcreek Trail after receiving a complaint of several males and a female trying to open car doors. Police located and stopped a male in the area. The male was identified as one of the responsible parties and placed under arrest. He immediately fled from police and ran into the Preservation Park area. Police searched the area but could not locate him.
On August 20, 2013 at 1:25 a.m., the Guelph Police located and arrested this male at his residence.
The 17-year-old Guelph male has been charged with attempt theft under $5,000 and escape lawful custody. He will appear in court on September 11, 2013.
