(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 17 year old male driver is facing several charges in relation to a traffic stop by police on September 15, 2012. At approximately 1:15 a.m. Huron OPP officers observed a Jeep Grand Cherokee travelling northbound on Parr Line near Kirkton Road. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle however the driver accelerated by the officers and continued to travel another 2.2 kilometres before coming to a stop at a private drive. The driver fled on foot from the vehicle into a nearby bush. Officers made contact with the driver by phone at which point he returned to his vehicle.
A 17 year old male from South Huron is charged with Flight from Police Officer, Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, Drive Motor Vehicle – No Plates and Young Driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration above Zero. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on November 15, 2012.
