Over the past few weeks the Saugeen Shores Police Service investigated several vehicle entries and thefts from vehicles.
On the 16th of August 2016 a resident of Port Elgin from Bricker St called police to report that at 4:15 am he had seen a male all dressed in black trying to enter his vehicle He yelled and the suspect ran away. At 7:06 am another resident from Maple Drive called reporting someone in the backyard with a ski mask dressed in black. The resident scared this person away.
Police attended the area and began searching. Through investigation a 17 year old Saugeen Shores male was arrested, held for a bail hearing and faces the following charges;
– 5 counts of Fail to comply with undertaking
– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
– Theft Under $5000 from a motor vehicle
Police are still working to identify the victims of some of the property recovered.
