16 Year Old Squealing Tires Leads To Racing Charge And Vehicle Impoundment

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) At approximately 3 p.m. on Tuesday June 28, 2011 a Perth County OPP officer in Listowel was completing paperwork in his cruiser on Victoria Ave. South when the officer heard and saw a small sedan squealing its tires.

The officer also observed the sedan speeding away in an aggressive manner. At Victoria Ave. and Main St. West the officer was able to safely pull over and stop the offending vehicle. The lone 16 year old male driver from the Municipality of North Perth was served a summons for “racing”. This resulted in a seven day drivers licence suspension and a seven day vehicle impoundment. A charge of “operating an unsafe vehicle” was also laid on the driver.

The driver will have to appear in Stratford Court on July 26, 2011 to answer to these charges.
