Just after midnight on Tuesday June 14, 2016 the Owen Sound Police Service received a 911 call, with regards to the theft of a pickup truck from a business near 10 th Street and 7 th Avenue West. The vehicle was left unlocked with the key in the ignition. A couple minutes later police received a second call about an erratically driven pickup truck in the 1300 block of 4 th Avenue East which matched the description of the stolen pickup truck.
Police responded to the area of the 1300 block of 4 th Avenue East and located the stolen pickup truck backing out of driveway. The female driver and male passenger aged 16 and 15 respectively were arrested at the scene. The female driver who was recently arrested and charged for a similar incident is being held for a Tuesday morning bail hearing for charges of Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The male passenger was released from custody with a future court date to answer to the charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
